Welcome to the buzzing world of “Bonjour, Bee!” A 1957 cartoon aimed to entertain, educate and inform the black youth in the midst of civil rights activism! “Bonjour, Bee!” was created by the brave, loud artist—Stanford Cordell Francis in 1957 to put a smile on his young black brothers’ and sisters’ faces! In 1959, his show would go off air with a final goodbye from his team and family—The Monarch March.It was not until recently that the humble-bumble show was rediscovered and archived for the world to see! And now…from the bees above to the grass below…Stanley has returned to put on a show!

STANLEY B. STINGER TRIVIA

-In concept art, Stanley is revealed to go through two redesigns throughout the years, one in 1939 and the other in 1956 before landing on his final design.-The original 1939 design was named “Francis Bee-A-Carpenter”-The 1956 design was named “Stanford B. Carpenter”-Stanley’s soon to be physical puppet will be a waist-up rod puppet before he is upgraded to a full body mascot puppet.-Stanley was originally conceptualized as a grumpy character-Stanley owns a Vespa for deliveries-Dorion was once asked “Does Stanley understand Bee Language?” The answer was “no” since he was raised by Maggie. He was instead taught English and French due to Maggie’s lack of knowledge that “Bee Language” was a thing.-Stanley sells his honey in hexagonal shaped jars-It is publicly undisclosed how Stanley makes his honey as he does not have a hive nor does he create one of his own-Since 2023, Stanley was designed with a corset in mind. In 2025, Dorion decided that the corset made him appear too formal and less neighborly, he was given a cardigan-like vest instead.-Stanley has never stung anyone before-Stanley was originally going to be a father to a scrapped character, a little bee named “Prince L.B. Stinger”-When Stanley was first created, he was conceptualized by his previous owner as an OC to another popular puppet project, Welcome Home. Dorion has since decided to rewrite him entirely once he was gifted the character and do his best to completely separate him from his old source.-Stanley primarily teaches cooking and language skills

Physical Appearance

Stanley is a 4’0 bee puppet with yellow felt skin/fuzz accompanied by brown stripes on his abdomen. Despite being visually Male, Stanley has a stinger which is only found on female honeybees which implies there is more to Stanley’s story than meets the eye. Stanley’s hair is in a brown slicked back Pompadour with a singular yellow stripe down the middle and two medium length antennae protruding from the sides. He wears a yellow bow tie paired nicely with his orange checkered cardigan vest and off white dress shirt underneath. He wears brown dress pants and brown Pedwin shoes. His wings are a translucent blue and are about the height of his chest.

Personality

Stanley is quite the pompous fellow at times but despite his 50/50 attitude, Stanley holds everyone in Honeybee Heights near and dear to his heart! Stanley is understanding and the most open resident of Honeybee Heights, aiming to teach his friends all sorts of new things they may not yet know about! He also aims to learn things he himself doesn’t yet know about, being a teacher and a friend to all! Baking is his main way of showing love to those around him, pouring his felted heart into each treat so his fellow friends smile as much as he does!

Antonio CalabroneAntonio and Stanley both run The Busy Bee together as business partners, both baking and serving their local residents with a smile! Stanley finds great joy being accompanied by Antonio and the feeling is clearly mutual with both puppets constantly seen together as an inseparable, unstoppable duo! However, according to Dimitri Orion’s concept art, it is implied that Stanley and Antonio are a queer couple. This has yet to be confirmed.Maggie MagpieMaggie and Stanley have a tight knit mother-son relationship despite clearly not having any “blood’ relation. It is thought that Maggie taught Stanley everything he knew about baking and heavily implied that Stanley gets his attitude from her, positive and negative. Based on a concept drawing, Maggie may have found Stanley while he was a young bee.Wylie WalrusWylie and Stanley have a father-son like relationship despite Stanley never referring to him as any sort of parental titles, the reason for this is currently unknown but this lack of knowledge doesn’t hide the fact that Stanley and Wylie are close in a way. Stanley often helps Wylie prepare for long ventures outside of Honeybee Heights by making him confections and snacks for the journey, meaning Wylie is likely a common customer of The Busy Bee.Benny BebopFights between Benny and Stanley are not an uncommon occurrence, this is likely due to Benny’s crude language and “jokes” towards many of the residents. Stanley can often be seen giving Benny unpleasant looks and glares when he enters The Busy Bee or anywhere near him, Despite their butting-of-heads, there are still plenty of stories where Benny and Stanley learn and teach together.Beau BebopBeau and Stanley are quite the friends, both often taking pollination “dates’ as a way to help their home continue to thrive. Beau is often the one to break up fights between both Stanley and Benny, even going far as to apologize for his slightly older brother, Due to this, Stanley often provides Beau with on-the-house treats for their troubles which Beau always attempts to decline. Stanley however…heavily insists.

ANTONIO CALABRONE TRIVIA

-Antonio plays the piano and when Stanley is sitting with him, he will guide Stanley’s hands to help him play as well-Wasps such as Antonio leave nests to find new colonies, new queens. His nest was his home with Valentina. He left to find a queen and finally make a living, but instead, he found a King. He views Stanley B. Stinger as his hive’s king.-Antonio primarily teaches cooking and self esteem lessons-In his 2024 concept, Antonio had a Brooklyn Accent like his mother, Valentina Calabrone. This was scrapped and he now has an Italian accent like his father, Francesco Calabrone-He is referred to as “Boss Man” by Benny Bebop-In Antonio’s 2024 concept, he was designed with a corset. This has since been removed and replaced with a dress shirt and tie to better suit his occupation as a business man-Antonio refers to Stanley as “My World”-Antonio’s main weakness is sarcasm, he takes almost everything literally and cannot take a joke-Antonio assists Stanley in extracting the beeswax from his abdomen by nibbling it off-Antonio is most often called “Tony” (Occasionally spelled "Toni") on daily basis but called “Antonio” when he’s in trouble-For Dorion, Antonio is the second most difficult to draw, the first being Wylie-In his 2024 concept, Antonio had 4 arms. Drawing them drove Dorion mad so in 2025, it removed 2 of them

Physical Appearance

Antonio is a 5’6 wasp puppet with yellow felt skin/fuzz accompanied by black stripes on his abdomen. Like Stanley—despite being physically male, Antonio has a stinger which is only found on female wasps which implies there is more to Antonio’s story than meets the eye. Antonio’s hair is in a black slightly messy pompadour with a yellow strands and stripes down the middle. He has two long antennae that bend at the middle. His outfit consists of a (color) dress shirt, (color) tie, (color) suspenders and (color) clacks. He wears matching brown Pedwin shoes with Stanley, implying that it is likely part of a uniform. He has four (color) wings, two on each side of his back.

Personality

Antonio is a very tired business man, despite his apparent occasional lack of smarts, he manages the Busy Bee and handles a majority of the stock all while still baking with Stanley. But despite working so hard, Antonio still puts on a smile and offers a helping hand to any resident who needs him! Along with his kindness however, comes with a lot of gullibility. Antonio is most likely to fall for falsehoods and fibs! Poor guy…

Antonio often visits (Benny’s Bar Name) to talk business with Benny, helping him and his brother get their music beyond the Moorlands! Aside from that, they have been known to be drinking buddies! An ice cold glass of nectar is always needed after a long day’s work! Don’t let Stanley see Antonio near Benny though…he sees Benny as an awful influence on Antonio! This results in Antonio treating Benny more neutrally when Stanley’s around but wordlessly promising drinks later.Beau BebopAs much as Antonio would love to be closer to Beau, Beau has a bloodcurdling fear of Antonio. This is due to Antonio being a wasp, which is a predator towards moths. However, Beau puts a lot of his lessons to use in order to not judge him for the way he was born. To grow closer, Antonio allows Beau to show him his favorite pastimes, teach him instruments and much much more! Their relationship grows to this day.

-Maggie found Stanley nestled in snow while foraging for the last living berries during winter, she took him in and kept him warm the entire season even though he did not wake up fully until spring-There has never been any physical depiction of Maggie being able to fly-Throughout the series, it is implied that Maggie is a hoarder, but not a garbage hoarder. Maggie collects and keeps every silver or gold piece she finds, even if it is not real gold or silver-Maggie is Creole and Jamaican. She is not blood related to Stanley so these genes are not passed to him-Despite the drastic difference in designs, Wylie is not the oldest main resident, Maggie is-Maggie genuinely cannot tell why people do not immediately guess that Stanley is her son, she forgets that he is adopted and that they look nothing alike-Maggie often avoids migration during the winter in hopes to care for Stanley, she fears he won’t survive it despite him not having any issues with it since he was a baby-Out of all the residents, Maggie has the most fiery temper-Maggie is the only woman in the main cast, since it couldn’t be changed, there was a surplus of women added in the secondary cast-Maggie’s character was heavily inspired by Nicole Williams from Craig of the Creek, Mama Odie from The Princess and the Frog and the song Halo by Beyonce-For Dorion, Maggie is the third most difficult character to draw, the second being Antonio, first being Wylie

Physical Appearance

Maggie is a 5’2 magpie puppet with equally varying felt/feather colors: Navy, Cerulean, Green, Gray and White. She has a navy colored Afro with white streaks through the center. Her hair is held up into a high puffy ponytail with a (color) bandana. Maggie’s face is gray with a black beak and mossy green cheeks. Her cerulean chest is accompanied by a navy heart pattern which also holds a white heart in the center. The same navy, cerulean and white make up her wings. The rest of her body is primarily white with cerulean and mossy green spots on her thighs. Her talons are the same black as her beak. Her long tail is a mossy green that fades into navy then black towards the tip. She wears white cuffs on her ankles and can occasionally be seen wearing gold rings on her talons.

Personality

Maggie is the most motherly resident in all of the Moorlands! She enjoys the finer things in life and finds herself collecting a lot of shiny objects, such as the rings she occasionally wears! Despite her apparent desire for the riches, Maggie never forgot where she came from! She will always teach those around her about respect and caring for those around you no matter what their background is! She will also lend a helping wing to anyone in need, be it food, a place to stay or some advice!

WYLIE WALRUS TRIVIA

-Wylie is most knowledgable in biology and marine biology-Newcomers assume Wylie will be difficult to approach due to his dull colors, however, he is one of the most approachable residents in town!-If you were to ask a resident “who is the kindest resident in town?”, Wylie would be second, the first being Beau-Despite his surface level knowledge in entomology, Wylie is terrified of most bugs with the exception of the main casts bugs and Antony-Wylie is the strongest resident in town but never takes any opportunity to prove it in a bragging sense-In his 2024 concept, Wylie was originally going to be an ice cream parlor who sold ice cream sandwiches—two pieces of sweetened bread with ice cream scoops in the middle. This concept design can still be seen in the first “Casting Call” render for Bonjour Bee before being scrapped and replaced with a more professional look-Wylie was never supposed to be depicted as British, he was initially expected to have a voice akin to Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. This was changed when his Voice Claim was confirmed to be Captain Barnacles from Octonauts-In nearly every drawing of Wylie, Dorion forgets to draw his tusks until after the lineart is done-For Dorion, Wylie is the most difficult to draw-In Wylie's original Parlor concept, he was given what Dorion thought was a long walrus tail. This was removed due to it actually being a leg and the idea of Wylie having a third leg was not only disturbing but extremely vulgar saying it out loud

Physical Appearance

Wylie is a 6’2 walrus puppet with light blue felt, pastel blue hair everywhere on his head except for the top. He has bushy eyebrows and a cat like mouth the same color as his hair. His nose is dark blue and overlaps his cat like mouth slightly. He has two large tusks protruding from his mouth at all times. Wylie wears a (color) dress shirt, (color) tie, (color) jacket, (color) belt and pants and (color) shoes. 90% of the time he has a brown cross body messenger bag on as well.

Personality

Wylie is the Moorlands’ gentle giant! Don’t let his big scary tusks fool you…they’re purely for eating fishsicles! Wylie is the Moorlands’…questionably smartest resident! He, like many others, has his moments of mental slips but other than that, Wylie is well educated in biology and spends his free time scoping out the wildlife! Despite his clumsiness, the woodland critters all seem to take a liking to him!

A voice smooth as honey and sinful as his pride! Your local jazz singer’s charming smile comes with many hidden agendas, but which one?

BENNY BEBOP TRIVIA

-Benny is often depicted as a bully, however, he claims he says what he says and does what he does purely for comedy and a laugh-Benny is an instigator and often creates problems rather than assisting in solving them, he is aware that he does this-The only person Benny tries not to bother so much is his brother, Beau-Despite being a jazz vocalist, Benny is also skilled in a much smaller number of instruments in comparison to Beau such as: The Saxophone, Piano, Trumpet and Trumbone-Benny often walks around with his wings spread, he is proud of his pattern and shows it off often-Benny was inspired off Frankie the Frog from Meet the Robinsons, the entirety of Benny & Beau Bebop were inspired by the Jazz Frogs as a whole after Dorion religiously listened to “Give me the Simple life” and “Where is your heart at?”-Benny owns the bar portion of the Bebop business while Beau owns the venue portion-Benny was initially going to be scrapped due to his original design being extremely neon colored and not akin to a jazz singer at all. However, Dorion used its critical thinking skills and remembered it can redesign him-Underneath Benny's pant legs, his shoes are actually boots that go up past his ankles. He gets made fun of for it-Dorion has wished many times that Benny was left out in the sun to dry up and sunbleach, he is Dorion's least favorite character as a whole but its favorite to write-Benny's personality is a mix of Roscoe from Oliver and Company, Jax from The Amazing Digital Circus and Radicles X from OK K.O. Lets be Heroes!

Physical Appearance

Benny is a 4’9 moth puppet with (color) felt, a generous (color) mane that starts at his neck and ends in a swirl at the top of his head. It is neatly kept with two (color) rhombic moth antenna. He has a circular head with an oval nose in the center, paired with a charming smile! Benny’s figure is fairly thin with a larger chest, but his (color)double tail-coated wings are approximately as tall as him, making him appear larger than he really is. He wears a (color) V-neck shirt and a (color) vest with 3 (color) buttons down the center. This pairs with his (color) slacks, (color) platforms and (color) cab hat!

Personality

Benny is the Moorlands’ angel! In a way…his voice is angelic but his antics imply many hidden agendas. He is the most charismatic of the bunch but this charisma only works only a small handful of residents…so can you really call it charisma? More so a pain in everyone’s side and a pest itching to get under your skin! Underneath that exterior however, is a man who adores his craft! His voice, his singing and his performances with his brother, Beau! Nothing screams “in my element” to him more than performing with his younger sibling.

When Benny continues with his pesky banter, Wylie will sometimes bite back with an embarrassing moth fact! Wylie is one of the rare few who can put Benny in his respective place and remind him that he is no better than everyone else.Beau BebopDespite Benny’s attitude towards the other residents, he ensures Beau is never a victim of his potty mouth. Benny is extremely protective of Beau, the two are often seen together and rarely separated unless matters call for it. Beau is one of the only residents who will receive genuine compliments and feedback from Benny without a quip attached!

As they all say, opposites attract! Don’t let Benny make you think ALL Bebop’s are full of mischief…some are full of chamomile tea and righteous groove with a side of delicious jazzy beats!

TRIVIA

-Beau is the youngest and shortest resident of the town, however they are not seen as less by anyone older than them-Beau yanks their antenna when they are stressed out of their mind, however that is not the reason their antenna are droopy in comparison to Benny's-Beau's original colors consisted of yellows, blues but even greens and pinks. Their colors were altered almost completely to match only the yellow/warm colors or blue/cool colors theme-Beau doesn't often fly in comparison to Benny, nor do they hold their wings open in pride. Their wings are often closed and hidden, as of May 2026 there is no artwork of Beau with their wings spread-Beau was Dorion's biggest struggle in finding a voice actor for. It had been told on many occasions that they sounded too close to Wally Darling from Welcome Home which was far from the goal-The entirety of Benny & Beau Bebop were inspired by the Jazz Frogs as a whole after Dorion religiously listened to “Give me the Simple life” and “Where is your heart at?”-The original Voice Claim for Beau was Snufkin from Moominvalley 2019, however their current voice actor's audition caught Dorion's heart in such a way that trying to match to the voice claim did not matter to it-Beau's personality is inspired mostly by Pilby from The Axolotl Sun's Roblox game, Regretevator and Squirm from BlushCrunch's Roblox game, Dandy's World-Despite Beau's extreme anxiety and timid nature, they have a tremendous skill of not hiding their disgust or distaste in their face

Beau is a 3’9 moth puppet with a large mute yellow and white mane that matches his face and body. His head is circular like Benny’s, an oval nose in the center with a much kinder, genuine smile. His (color) double tail-coated wings are slightly taller than he is. Beau’s body is a lot less thinner than Benny’s, more full and curvaceous. A perfect form housed by his blue long sleeve blouse, black ribbon bow tie and black pants.

Personality

There he is! The true angel of the Moorlands! There isn’t a sweeter soul than Beau Bebop! Beau is Honeybee Height’s youngest and kindest resident there is, while also being the most nervous and skittish. You’d think these minor setbacks would hinder his performances…but Beau never hesitates to deliver the most righteous groove to the Moorlands! Everyone deserves to let loose once in a while, and Benny and Beau always deliver!

Beau is often the one to break up fights between both Stanley and Benny, even going far as to apologize for his slightly older brother, Due to this, Stanley often provides Beau with on-the-house treats for their troubles which Beau always attempts to decline. Stanley however…heavily insists.Antonio CalabroneAs much as Antonio would love to be closer to Beau, Beau has a bloodcurdling fear of Antonio. This is due to Antonio being a wasp, which is a predator towards moths. However, Beau puts a lot of his lessons to use in order to not judge him for the way he was born. To grow closer, Antonio allows Beau to show him his favorite pastimes, teach him instruments and much much more! Their relationship grows to this day.Maggie MagpieBeau and Maggie have a mentor/apprentice like relationship, but a step closer towards familial! So much so that Beau often refers to Maggie as “Aunt Maggie”. She often helps Beau boost his self esteem and stand for himself…even if it proves to be unsuccessful.Wylie WalrusWylie and Beau are mutual with each other, but Beau is still slightly scared of Wylie to his tall and observant he is! However, Beau still feel safer around him during walks around the Moor, feeling protected and comfortable as he remembers how gentle Wylie is with ALL critters. Moths included!Benny BebopDespite his brother’s attitude towards the other residents, Beau is always the calm to Benny’s apparent storm. He will forever be beside his older brother as a means to keep him calm and respectful, while also having Benny as his constant protection. The two are practically inseparable and Beau would not have it any other way!

Dorion (or better known as Dimitri Orion) is the creator behind Bonjour Bee! A Jamaican-American artist with a taste for colorful casts! Dorion had grown up surrounded by cartoons from childhood as you'd expect, but even now, through adulthood, cartoons continue to inspire it! While Dorion had always wanted to write a story, share something with the world, it never knew what to share! Something fictional? Something real?It wasn't until it's biggest inspiration, Welcome Home, had grown popular in 2023, that Dorion had become infatuated with a concept it avoided for years. Puppets!
